Turns out that just disassembling and reassembling then flicking the bulb got it working again.
Which is fortunate because none of my 10 LED lights fit. I am left with these four lights for spares I guess. They don’t fit in the Kia I already checked.

The shift light in my old outback was dead for the first 4 years or so of my family’s ownership of it. Then one day it just started working again.

I pulled the cluster on my first P71 because half of it was burned out. Or so I thought.
Turns out rough driving policemans made the sockets turn 1/8 of a turn, making them loose. Tightened them all up and had light again.
Oh, and my my 3 last week I noticed the license plate lights were both out. A good open palmed smack to the center of the bumper fixed those.

Too italian. Actually, the Lincoln (as opposed to the Benz) has D1, D2, and L, which stands for Ding 1 and Ding 2 and the Lorax.
